چکیده
Alloxan was one of the usual substances used for induction diabetes mellitus. It has a destructive effect on β cells pancreas. Glibenclamide an oral sulphonylurea antidiabetic preparation and widely as standard drug in study. In hypoglycaemic study C. tinctorius L. petals extract alloxan induced diabetic rats, significant increase serum fasting blood glucose level with decrease body weight were observed. On other hand, treatment to animals produced dose related effects. The increased brought down gain seen.
effectively normal rats that are reflected by elevated levels glucose, glycosylated Hb reduced weight, liver, pancreas kidney glycogen, insulin injected animals. Treatment glibenclamide methanolic aqueous extracts reversed these conditions. While comparing plant study, showed better activity than extract. Decrease glycogen content control due leakage state. Prevention depletion liver following administration could have been achieved stimulation release. highest improvement recorded 600 mg/kg b.w. dosage (petals).

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts
in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...
Phytochemical Screening, Anti-oxidant Activity and in Vitro Anti-diabetic Activity of Aqueous, Methanolic, Ethanolic and Chloroformic Extracts of Hygrophilaauriculata
Objective: The objective of this study was to screen the phytochemical constituents of the seeds of the medicinal plant Hygrophilaauriculata and to obtain preliminary in vitro data about its anti-diabetic effects. Methods: First extracts in four solvents i.e. water, methanol, ethanol and chloroform were prepared by optimized maceration procedures. Determination of the phytochemical constituents...
متن کاملQuality evaluation of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) cultivars
Abstract Safflower is a minor oilseed crop in Australia where the market is dominated by canola, cottonseed and sunflower. Safflower however offers an alternative oilseed crop in marginal areas. This study was designed to evaluate current safflower lines and to determine their potential value both for edible oil and meal for animal feed. Two sets of samples were analysed. The first was a collec...

Plants have been used as medicines in the treatment of diseases from the past to present. In this research, the anti-microbial effects of aqueous and methanolic extracts of Erythrostemon gilliesii were studied. For this purpose, fresh flowers were ground and then macerated in methanol 100% and water overnight. After the evaporation of solvents, anti-microbial activities of the concentrated extr...
